Great Cambourne

The Greater Cambourne Programme covers around 135 homes and communal areas across the local area, including Priory Walk, High Street, Glebe Lane, New Hall Lane, Back Lane, Squire Drive, Lancaster Gate, Lysander Close, Reed Cottages, Smithy Way, Sterling Way and Oxford Way. The programme started in October 2025, with works beginning at the first locations. Since then, we have been carrying out a range of improvements to make homes more weather resistant, better insulated and easier to maintain, while also improving their appearance.

What are the works?

  • Replacement windows and doors where required
  • Repairs and improvements to fascias, soffits and rainwater goods
  • External decoration
  • Repairs to render and timber features
  • Improvements to communal entrances, windows and doors
  • Repairs and painting to porch canopies, supports, railings and other external features

Where scaffolding has been required, we have used the opportunity to complete related external works at the same time, helping to reduce the need for future access and disruption.

Moving towards completion

The majority of the programme has now been completed and we are moving into the final stage. Around 30 properties remain under consideration, mainly involving more complex external timber elements at Squire Drive, Glebe Lane and New Hall Lane. These properties are known as Passive House properties.

Planning applications are currently being progressed to confirm the most appropriate approach and obtain the necessary approvals. Once these decisions have been made, we will provide affected residents with further information about the proposed works and timescales.

The programme is currently planned to complete in March 2027.
